The first thing that must be understood is the Target:
Cisco is mainly dedicated to a consumer market, whilst Juniper is often the choice of Large Datacenters, Service Providers and extra large enterprises.

Obviously the cost differs.
Cisco prices are significantly higher, that's one of the reasons why DCs and SPs go with Juniper.
It's not the only one though.
Juniper Hardware and Software reduce complexity and increases Security.
And most importantly DCs and SPs have generally qualified engineers who can manage the solutions so it becomes a no brainer.
So at the end of the day when they ask me Cisco or Juniper?
I always answer the same. Both.
